Description

Urgent repairs to the track between Cambridge and Ely means Great Northern trains are unable to run between these stations and will be cancelled.

This is expected until the end of the day.

Customer advice:

No Great Northern trains can run between Cambridge and Ely until the end of the day on Sunday 5th October.

If you are travelling between these stations, your journey will take at up to 60 minutes longer than expected, and you will need to use an alternative route to reach your destination.

Rail replacement buses have been requested to run between Cambridge and Ely in both directions; however, these have not yet been confirmed by Great Northern suppliers and may not be until the early hours of Sunday morning. These buses will be in addition to our already planned rail replacement buses between Ely and King's Lynn.

Can you tell me more about the incident?

Engineering work taking place between King's Lynn and Ely has been extended to include the section between Ely and Cambridge. While this is ongoing, Great Northern are unable to run trains between these stations.

A rail replacement bus service is scheduled to run between King's Lynn and Ely, and we are working to source additional buses to run between Ely and Cambridge.
