Between Cosham / Havant and Portsmouth Harbour
Description
All lines have now reopened following earlier overrunning engineering works between Fratton and Havant. Trains running between Cosham / Havant and Portsmouth Harbour may continue to be cancelled, delayed by up to 30 minutes or revised.
This is expected until 08:00.
South Western Railway services are no longer affected by this disruption.
Advice for Southern customers:
If you are travelling between Havant and Barnham, you may need to allow at least an extra 30 minutes to complete your journey.
The lines have now reopened and we have begun working to reintroduce services. However, because trains were out of position during the closure, a number of early morning services that were due to start from Southampton Central and Portsmouth Harbour will now start from Barnham instead.
If you are travelling between these stations, you are still strongly advised to check your journey before starting, as you may need to travel on an alternative route or change trains. If you choose to travel on an alternative route, your journey time could be extended by at least 30 minutes.
To help you complete your journey you can use your ticket on any of the following at no extra cost:
Alternative Southern services between, Portsmouth, Southampton, Brighton and London Victoria
South Western Services between Portsmouth Harbour and London Waterloo
London Underground between London Waterloo and London Victoria
Stagecoach 700 between Portsmouth and Chichester
Check before you travel:
You can check your journey using the National Rail Enquiries real-time Journey Planner.
Compensation:
You may be entitled to compensation if you experience a delay in completing your journey today. Please keep your train ticket and make a note of your journey, as both will be required to support any claim.
