Description
A fault with the signalling system between Havant and Portsmouth Harbour means some lines are disrupted. As a result, trains may be cancelled, delayed by up to 10 minutes or revised.
Disruption is expected until 15:30.
Southern customer advice:
If you are travelling now, you may need to use an alternative route to complete your journey and allow at least 20 minutes more time to arrive at your destination.
Portsmouth Harbour is not currently being services by a Southern service, so if you are travelling from or to this station, we recommend changing for a South Western Railway service towards Portsmouth Harbour at Havant.
Service alterations:
Trains that normally run between Brighton and Portsmouth & Southsea will terminate and restart at Barnham.
Services that normally run between London Victoria and Portsmouth Harbour will instead terminate and restart from Portsmouth & Southsea.

Trains may be delayed due to a signal fault in this area. The signal is stuck on red, so drivers must stop and get verbal permission to continue, making journeys longer.
Railway signals warn drivers when they need to stop. Normally, a green light means the track is clear, while yellow signals warn of a red light ahead, helping drivers slow down safely.
Signalling follows "fail-safe" principles. If a signal cannot change properly, it defaults to red, even if the track is clear. This causes delays as trains must wait for instructions.
Network Rail maintains the system, and we are working with them to fix the issue as quickly as possible. In the meantime, we are monitoring services and doing our best to keep trains running.
