Description

The multiple signalling system faults in the Peterborough area have now been rectified again.

Trains through Peterborough may still be cancelled, severely delayed by up to 90 minutes or revised whilst service recover.

Major disruption is expected until 17:00.

Your ticket can be used, at no extra cost on the following services:

  • The two CrossCountry services operating before and after your cancelled service

  • East Midlands Railway via any reasonable route

  • Greater Anglia via any reasonable route

If you decide to travel from a different station due to this disruption and need to return to that station later, you will also be able to use your existing ticket to do this at no extra cost.

Unfortunately, any seat reservations will not be carried over to another train, but coaches B, H and L are the unreserved coaches on CrossCountry services (where available) so please head to them.

East Midlands Railway:

How do I get where I need to be?

You may use your ticket at no extra cost on LNER services between Peterborough and Doncaster in both directions.

You may use your ticket at no extra cost on CrossCountry services from Peterborough towards Derby / Nottingham if required. Delays also apply on this route so please plan your journey in advance to check what the best option is for you.

If your train on the Norwich / Nottingham / Liverpool route is not calling at Sheffield and this is your origin / destination, please use East Midlands Railway or Northern services to help you on your journey in either direction.

You may use your ticket at no extra cost on Greater Anglia services between Norwich and Peterborough in both directions.

Trains on the Peterborough / Lincoln / Doncaster routes are terminating at Spalding, rail replacement buses will be in place where possible. Please speak to station staff if you require assistance. Any buses will be advertised on National Rail Journey Planner.

Hull Trains:

You can use your ticket on the following services in both directions at no extra cost

  • East Midlands services between London St Pancras International and Sheffield

  • Avanti West Coast services between London Euston and Manchester Piccadilly

  • TransPennine Express services between Manchester stations and Hull

  • Northern services between Sheffield and Hull

Please note that these operators are likely to be busier than usual due to this disruption.

London Euston is around a 15 minute distance from London Kings Cross please see station staff for any further directions.

Grand Central:

You may use your ticket, at no extra cost on the following services:

  • LNER via any reasonable route

  • Northern via any reasonable route

  • TransPennine Express via any reasonable route

LNER:

Due to the severity of today's disruption at Peterborough LNER are advising customers to defer their travel. You can use your ticket today (Wednesday 16) for travel tomorrow (Thursday 17 July) at no extra cost.

You can use your ticket, at no extra cost on the following services:

  • Avanti West Coast between London Euston, Manchester and Glasgow Central / Edinburgh

  • TransPennine Express between Manchester, Leeds and York / Newcastle and Edinburgh

  • ScotRail between Glasgow Central and Edinburgh

  • Northern between Carlisle and Newcastle / Morpeth

  • East Midlands Railway between London St Pancras International, Leicester and Sheffield

  • CrossCountry between Sheffield, Doncaster / Leeds, York and Newcastle / Edinburgh

  • Great Northern and Thameslink between London Kings Cross, Stevenage and Peterborough

Please be aware that other operators’ services are also likely to be busy.
