Description

An obstruction on the track between Portsmouth & Southsea and Bedhampton means that trains must run at a reduced speed on lines towards Havant.

As a result, services between Portsmouth Harbour and Bedhampton may be delayed by up to 30 minutes or revised.

This is expected until 12:00.

South Western Railway advice:

Following a further safety check, it is now possible for trains to go through the affected area at a reduced speed.

Long distance and mainline services:

  • This will affect Portsmouth Harbour to London Waterloo services via Havant as they will have to run slowly through the area between Hilsea and Bedhampton.

Southern services between Portsmouth / Southampton and Havant will be subject to delays as they run through the Bedhampton area. Some services may also be terminated and started back from a different station to normal, such as Havant or Bognor Regis.

If you're travelling along this route, you should leave up to 30 minutes additional time to complete your journey. You may need to travel on a different train to normal, or change trains at an intermediate station.

You should check station information boards, listen to announcements, and use journey planners to find the latest train running information.

There has been a report of an obstruction on the railway, and this is now causing some disruption to services. Your train may be held on approach to the area, or it may need to be terminated before it gets to this part of the network.

Network Rail staff will be attending to remove the obstruction as quickly as they can. Unfortunately, it's not possible to try to run trains past this. We're closely monitoring progress updates.
