Description

A fault with the signalling system at Hamble means that services between Fareham and Southampton Central must run at a reduced speed on the line towards Southampton. As a result, trains running through these stations will be delayed by up to 20 minutes or revised.

Disruption is expected until 14:00.

Southern customer advice:

There is a reduced service to and from Southampton Central this morning, with some trains that normally run between Brighton and Southampton diverted into, and terminated at, Portsmouth & Southsea. Please check before you travel as you may have to change trains en route, and your journey is likely to be extended by up to 30 minutes.

Services from Brighton to Southampton that do run as advertised will be delayed by around 10-20 minutes when travelling through the Hamble area.

Network Rail responders are on site and working to resolve a problem with the signalling system in the Hamble area. This is proving to be a complex job and the disruption is ongoing.
