Description
Damage to the overhead electric wires in the Trafford Park area mean that all lines between Manchester Oxford Road and Warrington Central are blocked.
As a result, trains are currently unable to operate between these stations.
This is expected until 16:00.

Network Rail are on site and working to fix the problem.
East Midlands Railway customer advice:
Trains running through the area in both directions may be diverted between Manchester Oxford Road and Liverpool Lime Street, not calling at Warrington Central, Widnes or Liverpool South Parkway.
In addition, trains running towards Nottingham / Norwich may be diverted between Stockport and Chesterfield, not calling at Sheffield.
At present, East Midlands Railway are expecting the problem to be fixed in the next 2 hours. As soon as the problem is fixed, the priority will be to get trains running to their advertised times again. East Midlands Railway expect their advertised timetable to resume on the affected routes by 16:00.

You should continue to travel as originally planned however your journey may be delayed by 60 minutes.
East Midlands Railway are currently looking at alternative arrangements to keep you on the move. Please remember that this can take time and be assured that the team are working tirelessly to arrange this as quickly as possible for you.
You can use your ticket to travel at no extra cost on Northern and TransPennine Express services between Sheffield and Liverpool Lime Street. Please be aware that these operators are also affected by this disruption.

Train services are unable to run between Manchester Oxford Road and Warrington Central (in both directions).
