Island Line

New trains are expected to be introduced to the Island Line on Monday 1 November 2021, replacing the existing fleet which is over 80 years old. In order for these new trains to run, upgrades are being made to the Island Line route to allow these trains to be accommodated. This includes a new passing loop at Brading to allow more frequent services. More information on these upgrades can be found here.

Until the end of service on 31 October, buses will replace trains between:

  • Pier Head and Ryde Esplanade (minibus service)
  • Ryde Esplanade and Shanklin
