Description
Engineering work is taking place between Fareham and Havant and also between Havant and Portsmouth Harbour, closing all lines. Background information on the work can be found below.
Great Western Railway:
Buses replace trains between Fareham and Portsmouth Harbour.
The 20:30 Cardiff Central (starting Bristol Parkway) to Portsmouth Harbour will terminate Southampton Central. Customers for Fareham, Fratton, Portsmouth & Southsea and Portsmouth Harbour, should travel by earlier or later services.
The 04:50 Fratton to Bristol Temple Meads will start from Southampton Central. Customers from Fratton, Cosham, Portchester and Fareham travel by later services.
South Western Railway:
Buses will replace trains between:
Havant and Portsmouth Harbour
Fareham and Portsmouth Harbour
Southern:
An amended train service will run between London Victoria and Havant, and between Brighton and Southampton Central.
You can use South Western Railway replacement buses between Havant and Portsmouth Harbour at no extra cost.
Background information:
Network Rail engineers will be strengthening the railway infrastructure to keep trains running safely in the Portsmouth area. Between Monday 25 and Friday 29 May the wheeltimbers on Portcreek Viaduct will be renewed, following the work to strengthen the viaduct at the end of March. New tracks will be installed between Portcreek Viaduct and Moat Bridge.
In addition, 5 bridges (including St George’s Road, Moneyfields, Holbrook, Burrfields and St Mary’s) will be strengthened, and the renewal of Fratton station footbridge will be continued.
