Description

A tree blocking the railway between Fareham and Netley means all lines are blocked. As a result, trains running between Fareham and Southampton Central may be cancelled, delayed by up to 20 minutes, revised or diverted.

This is expected until 10:30.

Advice for Great Western Railway customers:

Great Western Railway will divert their trains via an alternative route between Southampton Central and Fareham, in both directions, this will extend your journey time by approximately 15 minutes.

If your train is cancelled, you may travel on either of the two services before, or two services after, your original train. If these are peak services or less flexible, you can still travel with your original ticket, at no extra cost.

Advice for Southern customers:

You will need to use an alternative route to travel and allow at least 30 minutes more time to complete your journey.

Trains to / from Southampton Central will terminate and restart at earlier stations than usual or may be diverted to Portsmouth & Southsea.

The following stations will not be served until further notice:

• Swanwick

• Bursledon

• Hamble

• Netley

• Sholing

• Woolston

• Bitterne

If you are travelling to / from Southampton Central, you can use South Western Railway services to / from Portsmouth, which continue to run.

Your ticket will be accepted on South Western Railway services between Portsmouth and Southampton at no extra cost.

You can also use your existing ticket at no extra cost on the following local bus services:

• First Bus 28 and 28A between Fareham and Swanwick

• Bluestar 3 between Southampton - Bitterne - Hedge End - Botley - Eastleigh

• Bluestar 7 between Southampton - Woolston - Sholing

• Bluestar 10 between Southampton - Woolston - Bitterne - Sholing

• Bluestar 13 between Southampton - Woolston - Bitterne

• Bluestar 14 between Southampton - Bitterne - Hedge End

• Bluestar 15 between Southampton - Woolston - Sholing - Netley - Hamble

• Bluestar 16 between Southampton and Bitterne

• Bluestar 18 between Southampton and Bitterne

• Bluestar 19 between Southampton - Woolston - Sholing

• Bluestar 20 between Southampton - St Denys - Bitterne

These buses will provide a connection for stations between Portsmouth and Southampton. Please be aware it will take longer to reach your destination. Ensure to leave at least an extra 30 minutes to complete your journey.
