Description

A fault with the signalling system at Hilsea is causing delays to journeys between Portsmouth Harbour and Havant / Fareham. As a result, trains running between these stations may be delayed by up to 30 minutes or revised.

This is expected until 12:00.

Advice for Southern customers:

If you are travelling between Havant and Portsmouth, please plan ahead and allow at least an extra 20 minutes to complete your journey.

While you will still be able to travel using your normal route, services may be delayed, so please check a live journey planner or station departure boards before you set off.

How will this affect your journey?

  • Reduced service between Barnham and Bognor Regis

  • London Victoria to Portsmouth Harbour will run only between London Victoria and Bognor Regis

  • Brighton to Portsmouth & Southsea will only run as far as Havant

  • A hourly service between Brighton and Southampton Central

Bosham, Nutbourne, Southbourne, Emsworth, Warblington will have an hourly service

As services are reduced between Havant and Portsmouth/Southampton Central you may need to change to complete your journey.

  • Stagecoach bus routes:

    • 700 Chichester, Fishbourne, Nutbourne, Southbourne, Emmsworth, Warblington, Havant, Portsmouth

    • 500 Littlehampton, Barnham, Chichester

Long Distance & Mainline Services

Fast services between Portsmouth Harbour and London Waterloo via Haslemere are expected to be diverted via an alternative route between Hilsea and Woking and will not be calling at stations between Hilsea and Woking via Haslemere.

Stopping services between Portsmouth stations and London Waterloo via Haslemere are expected to run as scheduled but are expected to be delayed by up to 30 minutes in the Hilsea area.

South & West Local Services

Services between Portsmouth stations and Southampton Central via Fareham are expected to delayed by up to 30 minutes or will be revised.

You can continue to use train services through the affected areas, but please allow extra time for your journey due to trains having to wait at signals and given permission to proceed for safety.

Your ticket can be used, at no extra cost, on Southern services between London Victoria / Clapham Junction and Portsmouth Harbour / Southampton Central.
