Description

All lines have reopened following a fault with the signalling system in the Peterborough area. As service recovers, trains in the Peterborough area may still be delayed by up to 50 minutes.

Disruption is expected until the end of the day.

What has happened?

There is a fault with the signalling system at Peterborough, which will disrupt East Midlands Railway trains on the Liverpool Lime Street / Nottingham / Norwich and Lincoln / Peterborough routes.

Network Rail will investigate the problem and assess the impact on trains.

How does this affect my train?

Trains running through the area in both directions through Peterborough may be delayed by up to 30 minutes and as a result, short notice cancellations / alterations may apply.

How do I get where I need to be?

You should continue to travel as originally planned however your journey may be delayed by up to 30 minutes.

You may use your ticket at no extra cost on the following services:

  • Greater Anglia services that are running between Peterborough and Norwich

  • LNER between London Kings Cross / Peterborough / Lincoln as well at London Kings Cross / Doncaster

As it is late in the day the number of connecting trains are limited. If you have already started our journey East Midlands Railway will make every effort to get you to your destination by rail. If not, they will make alternative arrangements for you. Please speak to a member of their team if you are concerned about your connecting journey.

You can use your ticket on the following train companies at no extra cost:

  • TransPennine Express between Leeds and York / Newcastle

  • Northern between Leeds and York

  • East Midlands Railway between London St Pancras International and Peterborough / Lincoln

  • CrossCountry between Leeds, York and Newcastle / Edinburgh

  • Greater Anglia between London Liverpool Street, Stevenage and Peterborough

  • Great Northern and Thameslink between London Kings Cross, Stevenage and Peterborough

  • Hull Trains between London Kings Cross and Doncaster
