Can you tell me more about the incident?

A cracked rail has been found on one of the lines in the Southampton area. There will be a reduced service to and from Southampton with those trains that do run picking up delays. Southern have had to terminate their services away from the area to help reduce the congestion expected.

There has been a report of an issue with the track in the Southampton area. Network Rail's engineers have attended and found a crack in one of the rails. Until this is repaired there is a need to reduce the number of services running over the track, and keep their speed down to a minimum. To alleviate congestion, and disruption, Southern trains have been stopped from running both ways through this part of the network.
