Women’s ICC T20 World Cup 2026 in England: Friday 12 June to Sunday 5 July
Teams representing 12 countries from around the world will compete in the 10th Women’s T20 World Cup in 2026 in England, organised by the International Cricket Council (ICC). Matches will take place at 7 different major cricket grounds across the country – at Bristol, Birmingham, Southampton, Manchester, Leeds and at 2 venues in London.
T20 cricket has transformed the game in recent years, with tournaments around the world attracting the most exciting cricketers and big crowds. Many countries now stage their own domestic T20 tournaments that are televised around the world. Looking forward, T20 cricket will return to the Olympic Games in 2028!
2026 will give cricket fans in England a chance to see the best women cricketers in the world competing at the pinnacle of the sport for their national teams at some of our iconic cricket grounds.
Host nation England, winners of the first World Cup, will be amongst the tournament favourites and will of course be well supported. Australia have won the World Cup 6 times and are always extremely competitive. West Indies have also won the tournament once, as have the defending champions New Zealand. Scotland and Ireland will add local interest to matches, and South Africa, Sri Lanka, India, Bangladesh, Netherlands and Pakistan will also be competing for World Cup glory.
Over the course of 3 exciting weeks, there will be games on most days, with 2 matches per day at some venues. After all of the 30 matches have taken place to determine the 4 best teams, there will be 2 semi-finals at The Oval in London, followed by the Final which will be held at Lord’s Cricket Ground.
Over 145,000 tickets have already been sold. With big crowds expected, many spectators will be looking to travel to the venues by public transport, so why not take the train to get to your chosen matches.
You can use the train to travel to and from the event
You can travel by train to each of the 7 venues that are hosting games at the Women’s T20 World Cup.
To travel to and from the event by train, simply book your ticket from your local station to the recommended station for your match's cricket ground (see our guide below).
Once you arrive at the recommended station, follow our advice below for details of how to transfer between the station and the stadium. Please be aware that transfers may only run at certain times during the day, and that some matches take place in the evening. Therefore, we recommend you plan your journey accordingly, to make sure you can get there and back home without any issues.
If you need to use a shuttle bus or local public transport to get to and from the stadium, a separate ticket is required as it is not included with either your train ticket or event ticket.
Sit back, relax and enjoy! Travelling by train is one of the easiest and greenest ways to get to your Women’s T20 World Cup action.
Which railway station should I travel to?
There are 7 stadium venues hosting this year’s Women’s T20 World Cup matches. Here’s our travel advice for getting to and from each venue:
Manchester
Venue: Old Trafford Cricket Ground, Manchester, approximately 3 miles from Manchester city centre. Hosts of Lancashire County Cricket Club.
Recommended stations: Plan your train journey to Manchester Stations
Transfer: Manchester Piccadilly / Manchester Victoria / Manchester Oxford Road stations are all on Manchester's tram network. From any of those stations you can get a tram (or more than 1 tram if necessary) to Old Trafford tram stop, which is on the Bury to Altrincham tram line. Old Trafford tram stop is directly next to the stadium.
Leeds
Venue: Headingley Cricket Ground, in the Headingley area north of Leeds. Hosts of Yorkshire County Cricket Club

Although there are no facilities at the station, there is step-free access to all platforms which may be accessed via long or steep ramps or via streets. An alternative station is Headingley, which is also on the Leeds to Harrogate line. There is step-free access to all platforms via lifts. Journeys to either of these nearby stations from around the country will probably require a change of train at Leeds, which is a big fully accessible station.
Transfer: Burley Park station is a short 5-minute walk to the ground. Headingley station is further away, an approximate 10-minute walk to the ground, with uphill sections
Birmingham
Venue: Edgbaston Cricket Ground, Birmingham, hosts of Warwickshire County Cricket Club. Edgbaston is located in the south of the city and is a regular host of big cricket matches.
Recommended station: Plan your train journey to Birmingham New Street, which is fully accessible and is the main central Birmingham station. The station is approximately 3 miles from the stadium and has a connecting Shuttle Bus on match days (see below)
Alternative station: University (Birmingham) station is the closest to the cricket ground and is fully accessible, but will require about a 30-minute walk to the stadium. The station is on the Cross City Line serving Redditch and Bromsgrove in the south to Lichfield Trent Valley in the north.
Transfer: A Shuttle Bus service operated by National Express is available from Birmingham New Street station to Edgbaston stadium on all major match days. The 501 Shuttle Bus pick-up point is located right outside Birmingham New Street station on Smallbrook Queensway. The service is convenient for users of both Birmingham New Street and Birmingham Moor Street train stations. A day ticket for the Shuttle Bus is £6 for adults and £4 for children (aged 5 to 15). Tickets are available to purchase in advance from the mTicket app or from staff on the bus by contactless.
Bristol
Venue: Bristol County Ground in Bristol, hosts of Gloucestershire County Cricket Club
Recommended stations: Plan your train journey to one of the 2 nearest stations to the stadium, either Montpelier or Ashley Down. Both of these stations can be reached with a change of train at Bristol Temple Meads station, or alternative changing stations may be recommended when you plan your journey
Ashley Down is the nearest station, and it's a short 10-minute walk from there to the stadium. The station is fully accessible with lifts serving both platforms. Ashley Down is on the line between Bristol Parkway and Bristol Temple Meads and has an hourly train service on weekdays (but an infrequent service on Sundays – please check your journey carefully)
Montpelier station is an approximate 20-minute walk to the stadium. It is fully accessible. Montpelier station is on the Bristol Temple Meads to Severn Beach line and has a train service every 30 minutes (hourly on Sundays)
Southampton
Venue: The Hampshire Bowl on the outskirts of Southampton, hosts of Hampshire County Cricket Club
Recommended station from London, the south-west, or Midlands: Plan your train journey to Southampton Airport Parkway station. The fully accessible station is approximately 3.5 miles from the stadium, and is on the London Waterloo to Weymouth, and Birmingham New Street to Bournemouth lines. On major matchdays there is a free shuttle bus from the station to the ground which takes approximately 15 minutes. Shuttle buses will be running from 1 hour before gates open to 30 minutes after the matchday has ended
Recommended station from Portsmouth and the south-east: Plan your train journey to Hedge End station, which has some step-free access to platforms. The station is less than 2 miles away from the stadium, approximately a 35-minute walk, and is on the London Waterloo to Portsmouth Harbour via Winchester line. A free shuttle bus runs direct between Hedge End station and the stadium. The shuttle buses will be running from 1 hour before gates open to 30 minutes after the matchday has ended
London – The Oval
Venue: The Oval Cricket Ground is located in south London, hosts to Surrey County Cricket Club. The Oval is a regular host of big cricket matches
Recommended station: Plan your train journey to Vauxhall National Rail station, which is served by South Western Railway trains going in and out of the major London Waterloo terminal station. Vauxhall station has step-free access to all platforms, and is a short walk from The Oval stadium
Alternative stations: Plan your journey to 'London stations', then pay for a journey from your London Terminal station to The Oval using the Tube (London Underground). Alternatively, get a Travelcard from your local station to London Zone 1 or London Zone 2 if available. Vauxhall Underground station (Zone 1) is on the Victoria line, with services every few minutes, and is just a short walk from the Alec Stewart Gate side of the ground. Oval (Zone 2) and Kennington Underground (Zone 1) stations are both on the Northern line and just a few minutes from the Pavilion End of the ground
London – Lord’s
Venue: Lord’s Cricket Ground in north London, hosts to Middlesex County Cricket Club and the MCC. Lord’s is known around the world as the ‘home of cricket’.
Recommended station: London Marylebone station is the nearest National Rail station, and is served by Chiltern Railways trains from Birmingham Moor Street, High Wycombe, Aylesbury and many more stations. It has step-free access and is an approximately 10-minute walk from the ground. Bus 113 connects to it from Lord’s (for anyone with mobility issues)
Alternative stations: Plan your journey to 'London stations', then pay for a journey from your London Terminal station to Lord's using the Tube network (London Underground). Alternatively, you could get a Travelcard from your local station to London Zone 1 or London Zone 2 if available. During major events at Lord's, St John’s Wood (Zone 2) Underground station is very busy and a queuing system to enter the station post-match will be in place, so alternative routes should be considered. Ticketholders are encouraged to use alternative routes via Tube stations such as Baker Street (Zone 1), Warwick Avenue (Zone 2), Marylebone (Zone 1) and Edgware Road (Zone 1) – all are no more than a 15-minute walk from Lord’s.
You can use the National Rail journey planner to plan your travel between your local station and the recommended National Rail station (not The Tube) for your chosen game.
